Side angle – did you feel those sides?

Hanging by the tips of fingertips! lol

This photo was taken for a magazine, GathR. I am not even sure if they are around anymore. But like in most photoshoots, you come in cold. I should have busted some Surya Namakara (Sun Salutations) before striking this. Well, it shows! hanging by a thread- or fingertips on this case. We had a block but the photographer was like, ” just show me what one would do!”

Practice makes it better. Maybe not all perfect!

Have you tried to speak a language you barely know? A yoga pose can feel the same. This one above is best done (according to Ashtanga) with your hand flat. You get there first (to a block if that’s where I am!) and finally the hand is moved to the outside of the front foot. That way you can feel and shape the body at that angle!

From the back heel to the tips of the fingertips above!

This pic needs a re-shot! Try to turn the armpit towards your face, avoiding opening the armpit like I am demonstrating… Yes, in time I am too working on this pose, insomuch that it has become one of my favorites. Intense, nevertheless. The important thing is that you keep on practicing! Even if it’s just a few minutes a day, and even if the blocks are used. My blocks are my big friends, most of the days.
